Former Tottenham Star Blasts Agent Over Dragusin January Exit Talks

Radu Dragusin, Tottenham Hotspur’s Romanian defender, has been at the center of rumors regarding a potential January move. Linked with Juventus and Napoli, speculation suggests Dragusin could depart due to limited playing time behind Cristian Romero and Micky van de Ven in Ange Postecoglou’s defensive setup.

Agent’s Comments Spark Controversy

Dragusin’s agent has fueled the speculation, stating lofty ambitions for the player:

“In three or four years, I see him at Real Madrid! We are only at the beginning of the road. His dream is Real or Barcelona.”

This bold statement has not gone unnoticed and has drawn criticism from former Tottenham goalkeeper Paul Robinson.

Paul Robinson: Agent to Blame

Robinson dismissed the likelihood of a January exit and pointed to the role of agents in stirring up rumors:

“Agents do that. They plant stories, and with so many media outlets, it doesn’t take much for a small rumor to grow into something big. I don’t think Tottenham do any deals for Dragusin in January, loan or permanent.”

The former England international added that Dragusin still has a lot to offer Spurs fans:

“He’s only just signed. Fans haven’t seen the best of him yet. He’ll get a run of games with Romero and van de Ven’s injury and disciplinary records.”

Serie A Interest in Dragusin

Despite Robinson’s dismissal, clubs like Juventus and Napoli may genuinely be interested. Juventus is in search of a central defender after Gleison Bremer suffered an ACL injury, while Antonio Conte’s need for defensive reinforcements adds to the Italian intrigue.

However, a move seems unlikely given Dragusin’s recent arrival at Tottenham and his involvement in competitions like the EFL Cup and the UEFA Europa League.

Opportunity Ahead for Dragusin

With Postecoglou’s preferred defensive duo struggling with injuries, Dragusin could see more opportunities in the coming weeks, particularly with the FA Cup looming. The defender, meanwhile, has remained tight-lipped about his future, avoiding any public comments on the matter.
