Harry Redknapp Urges Postecoglou to Give Mikey Moore a First-Team Role at Spurs

Former Tottenham manager Harry Redknapp has encouraged Ange Postecoglou to integrate Mikey Moore into the first team next season, despite the winger being just 17 years old.

Mikey Moore: A Rising Star at Hotspur Way

Moore has been generating excitement at Hotspur Way, with many considering him one of the most promising talents to come through the Spurs academy in years. The teenager made history last season as the youngest player to ever represent Tottenham in the Premier League, debuting against Manchester City.

Despite interest from top clubs across Europe, Moore committed his future to Spurs by signing his first professional contract after turning 17 on Sunday. Tottenham announced today that they have secured the winger’s services with a three-year deal, keeping him at the club until 2027.

Moore has continued to impress during Tottenham’s pre-season friendlies this summer, with Postecoglou praising the young winger as “incredible” for how smoothly he has adapted to higher levels of play.

Redknapp Advocates for Moore’s Inclusion

Redknapp has called on Postecoglou to give Moore a chance in the first team if the youngster is truly as talented as many believe. He referenced Spanish prodigy Lamine Yamal, who recently played in the European Championship final at just 16 years old, as an example.

The 77-year-old told Football.London: “The kid who played for Spain in the European Championship final (Lamine Yamal) was only 16. We’ve had Wayne Rooney and Joe Cole come into the team around that age. If Mikey is as good as everyone says, I hope we see him in the first team this year.”
