Novak Djokovic’s wife has revealed that she’s caught their children “bragging” about who their dad is. The 24-time Grand Slam champion shares two kids with his wife Jelena—Stefan, 10, and Tara, 7.

Family Sacrifices for Djokovic’s Career

Jelena explained how the family has made sacrifices for Djokovic to continue playing well into his late 30s as she addressed his future. The couple, together for 20 years, have seen their children grow up in the tennis world, with Stefan even becoming a keen young tennis player.

Djokovic’s kids have been spotted in his player box during big moments, including witnessing their dad’s Olympic gold medal triumph earlier this summer. They’ve shared many special moments after his Grand Slam victories, but according to Jelena, they still don’t fully grasp Djokovic’s global impact.

Children’s Innocent Bragging

“They are very young, so they don’t understand a lot of important things that he represents for people,” Jelena told La Nacion. “But they do understand that he is a hard worker and he is very respected. They see him when they travel, see the fans, and understand the attention he gets.”

As CEO of the Novak Djokovic Foundation, Jelena has overheard their innocent bragging: “I can hear them saying, ‘You know who my dad is.’ It’s childish bragging, but they’re also learning through the foundation’s work. Novak’s dream is to create a legacy that changes the world for children.”

Djokovic’s Limited Schedule and Family Support

While Stefan and Tara enjoy watching their father compete, Djokovic has begun to step back from the tour, limiting his schedule. He recently withdrew from the Paris Masters, placing his ATP Finals qualification in doubt, after previously pulling out of the Miami Open to balance his family life with his career.

“I’m traveling less now because of the kids,” Jelena explained. “There are so many tournaments, yet his career goes on. He’s choosing where to go, and it’s not my business. I support him, and the kids are proud of him. If we can help him stay longer, we will.”
