WTA Rankings: Sabalenka Within Touching Distance of World No.1 Spot

MINSK, 14 OctoberAryna Sabalenka of Belarus is closing in on the World No.1 spot in the latest WTA rankings, coming just 69 points short of overtaking Iga Swiatek of Poland.

Sabalenka’s Rise After Wuhan Victory

Following her impressive victory at the Wuhan Open, Sabalenka now holds 9,716 points, just shy of Swiatek’s 9,785 points. This narrow gap puts Sabalenka within touching distance of becoming the top-ranked player in the world.

  • Victoria Azarenka sits at World No. 21.
  • Aliaksandra Sasnovich holds the 131st spot.
