Ange Postecoglou has made a surprising decision by including Sergio Reguilon in Tottenham’s 25-man Premier League squad, despite the Spaniard not featuring in the matchday squads since Postecoglou took charge last summer.
Tottenham’s Official Premier League Squad
Friday marked the deadline for teams to submit their finalised squads for the Premier League until January, and Tottenham’s list on the league’s official website came with an unexpected twist. Reguilon, who has been out of the team for months, has been included in the 25-man squad.
The 27-year-old full-back is in the final year of his contract at Spurs, and many were surprised when he didn’t secure a move away before the transfer window closed. Now, with his name officially listed, it appears Reguilon will stay at Tottenham at least until January.
Postecoglou’s Warning
This inclusion is particularly surprising, given that Postecoglou had previously warned Reguilon he might not be integrated into the squad if he didn’t secure a move away (via The Standard).

A Backup Option?
If Reguilon remains at Tottenham until January, his inclusion in the squad might be a strategic decision to ensure depth in case of an injury crisis.
