Tottenham Youngster Jamie Donley Impresses in Pre-Season Win Over K-League XI

Tottenham Hotspur defeated K-League XI in a high-scoring pre-season match, where one youngster particularly stood out.

The North London team continued their pre-season preparations in Seoul on Wednesday afternoon, taking on the best 11 players from the K-League.

Dejan Kulusevski opened the scoring, followed by two goals from Son Heung-min just before half-time.

After the interval, K-League XI quickly scored two goals, but promising young forward Will Lankshear netted Tottenham’s fourth. Oberdan scored for K-League XI, bringing the final score to 4-3 in favor of Tottenham, marking their fifth win of the summer.

One Tottenham teenager, Jamie Donley, especially impressed Football London journalist Alasdair Gold.

Gold commented on Donley’s performance in the first half: “Donley put a lovely ball across the face of the goal, but unfortunately, nobody was there to tap it home. The Tottenham youngster has really impressed in the first half.”

Tom Barclay echoed this sentiment on X, saying: “Jamie Donley has really caught the eye at left-back.”

Jamie Donley, who progressed through Tottenham’s youth ranks as a forward, scoring 38 goals for the under-18s and 21s, has been deployed as a left-back by manager Ange Postecoglou. If Donley continues to excel in this position, it might become his permanent role.

However, it’s worth noting that Archie Gray played at center-back for much of the summer but returned to his preferred midfield role against K-League XI, indicating that Postecoglou might still be experimenting with player positions.

In other news, a ‘world-class’ attacker has just rejected two clubs amid rumors of a potential move to Tottenham.
