Tottenham Hotspur have agreed to loan Bryan Gil to Spanish side Girona, as reported by Football Insider. The 23-year-old will soon travel to Spain for a medical examination and to finalize the transfer.
The loan deal, worth over £1 million, will see Gil join a Girona team that finished third in La Liga last season and secured a Champions League spot.
Bryan Gil’s Journey at Tottenham
Bryan Gil joined Tottenham from Sevilla in the summer of 2021 on a five-year contract for €25 million. However, he has struggled to find consistent playing time at Spurs.
- In his first season, he played only 85 minutes across nine league games, leading to a loan to Valencia in January.
- Upon his return to Tottenham, Gil was loaned out again to Sevilla the following January.
- His third season started with an injury that sidelined him for several months. After recovering, Gil made only 11 Premier League appearances under new manager Ange Postecoglou, totaling just 201 minutes on the pitch.
This loan to Girona will be Gil’s third since joining Tottenham. The move aims to give him more playing time and opportunities to develop his career further. Girona will reportedly have the first option to sign Gil permanently, allowing Spurs to reassess his future with the club.
