Manchester United Player Receives Two Transfer Offers as Exit Seems Likely

Manchester United have a decision to make regarding midfielder Hannibal Mejbri, who has reportedly attracted interest from FC Copenhagen and Rangers this summer. The 21-year-old Tunisia international is in high demand during this transfer window.

According to AfricaFoot, Mejbri has received two offers recently. With just one year left on his contract at Old Trafford, his future is uncertain. United risk losing him for free in June 2025 if they don’t sell him now or in January, assuming he doesn’t sign an extension soon.

Mejbri began his career in France, playing for Paris FC, AC Boulogne-Billancourt, and AS Monaco as a youngster before moving to England in 2019. He has since progressed through United’s youth ranks, making his first-team debut in May 2021 against Wolves. He has played 13 matches for the Red Devils, 10 of which came last season.

In 2022, Mejbri was loaned to Birmingham City, where he gained valuable experience, playing 41 matches in all competitions and scoring one goal. He also had a brief stint in Spain with Sevilla, featuring in six matches for the La Liga club.

With fresh interest from Copenhagen and Rangers, United boss Erik ten Hag has previously expressed his admiration for Mejbri. He told the Manchester Evening News last year:

“I think he gives a very good message to the rest of the squad that this is the demand, this has to be the standard when you are playing in a position, what you have to bring to the team, to get success. Especially when you’re playing against possession-based teams; he is a really good fit, to give a good contribution to a good performance and to the result. I don’t think [his adaptation has been] that quick. Before I came in here, he was already in the first team, he made his debut. Last year he was on loan and this year he is making progress.”

“So that’s why he deserved an opportunity and I think now he’s taking that opportunity. Every time he has to improve and he had to give the evidence that he is worthy of playing. But that counts for everyone, every player in the squad. There are situations where players are ahead, but it’s good that the internal competition is there and hopefully it gives other players a push that they have to bring more, they have to add more. Because he did a great job for the team, he really contributed to our levels in the last two games.”

United must now decide whether to sell Mejbri or risk losing him for free next summer.
