Popular Nigerian comedian and content creator Sabinus has recently launched his own digital currency called Sabicoin.

This comes after popular Afrobeat musician Davido Adeleke released his token, $Davido, making Sabinus the second Nigerian celebrity to introduce a cryptocurrency within the past month.

Taking to the micro blogging platform, X, Sabinus shares that the inspiration behind Sabicoin comes from a combination of investor instinct and the influence of viral memes circulating on social media.

He said:

“Sabicoin is a digital currency inspired by the Investor himself, Sabinus and the popular use of his memes on several social media platforms.”
